Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

05 Sep 2022I completed this pleasant walk yesterday, travelling northwards from Warwick. Unlike previous reviewers, I didn't have any problems with marsh/flooded land, although summer 2022 was joint driest on record!
I can only assume the access issue noted on another review is the first footpath junction (when looking at the OS Explorer map) just north of Middle Woodloes. The gate on the path northwards there is overgrown, but the footpath detour to the west is clear and in my opinion appears a better walk anyway. The short detour soon rejoins the mapped route on Millenium Way after 4 or 5 minutes.
About a mile from the start after leaving Warwick, there is a good pub worthy of the few minutes detour along the Canal, called the Cape of Good Hope. After that, the walk takes you through the suburbs and through an underpass getting you safely to the other side of the A46 and out of Warwick.
The walk then takes a more rural feel with several kissing gates, small wooden bridges and a very brief section walking along Rouncil Lane layby up to the suburbs of Kenilworth, where the urban feel returns. A couple of points of interest on the walk; the big abandoned house you see after leaving the underpass is Woodloes Farmhouse, a grade II* listed building. The 4m high sandstone rock formation you pass a little further north after entering woodland is North Woodloes Quarry, used as recently as 2012 for the restoration of the Jury House in Warwick.
I did get the impression that you would have gotten very muddy in sections if it had been raining a lot previously, so that would definitely be a consideration if walking in Winter or other wet times. Still, I had a decent walk and only misses out on five stars due to the unavoidable amount of urban walking. At 6 miles long, it could have been joined with another walk - perhaps back to Leamington or onwards to Coventry.

10 Jun 2021Very marshy and in parts flooded to the west of the golf course, whilst possible to detour around, not the easiest. Also route sends you through a field you can’t get into as trees grown through gate, but again it’s not too long a detour.

30 May 2021Agree with previous reviewer. Could be amended to match Kenroy route - will be doing this tomorrow! Is passable, but you have to be brave and detour slightly.

27 May 2021The footpath is swamp west of the golf course dont go this way unless we are in a middle of a drought. Instead head around the east side. Check out the Leamington to Kenilworth walk.
