07 Dec 2022A nice mostly flat route between these two towns. Very little road walking apart from in Wellington where the route follows the busy B3187 through Tonedale. Mostly paved but not entirely, it still felt safe. Tivwel(2) mostly avoids this section and uses footpaths. The rest of the route is ideal mostly following the Grand Western canal towpath or the line of it from Tonedale to Greenham. There are a couple of pubs in Sampford Peverel, conveniently positioned about halfway through the route.

24 Apr 2021Lovely walk along the route of the old canal. Some sections are still in use; in others there are good earthworks and other points of archeological interest.
