Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

25 Jun 2023This route works and is generally easy to follow. There were two places (near New House and near Caynton Cottages) where cross-field paths that cut off a corner, and were supposedly on long distance routes , just weren't evident. In each case one end was accessible, but the other wasn't. There was a fascinating path at Oaken Park Farm across horse paddocks that was all there and easy to follow. There was obviously a recent diversion on the Monarch's Way between Beckbury and Heath House Farm that was waymarked but is not on the current OS online mapping. Overall there was more road walking than one would ideally want, its a pity those 2 paths didn't exist to break it up a bit. One of the group had been to Beckbury before and knew of an old cock fighting pit above the church, we took a short deviation to look at it. There is a pub in Beckbury and plenty of pubs and cafes in Albrighton. Even Codsall station has a pub.
