An enjoyable route. Having read the previous 2 reviews when I walked the route at the end of July I checked the footpath out of Stotfold and it remains blocked. As has been mentioned it is easy to take the underpass and then the footpath immediately on your left as you come out. On passing through the small wooded area at Radwell by the River Ivel you can go straight on across the meadow and then take a right to Norton Bury, crossing the Norton Road to the churchyard and then walk along the pavement to Norton Common. Alternatively you can take the track on the right as you are about to leave the woods and cross the Norton Road and then follow the footpath to the left to join the road to Norton Common - this cuts out about a third of the pavement walking. A good route through pleasant countryside and tree lined roads. The photos are of the route towards Radwell and Norton Common.

I thought this route very enjoyable, particularly walking through the meadows at Radwell and into Norton, where the footpath goes through the old churchyard.

There is around a mile of pavement walking through Letchworth but I found this quite pleasant going along the tree-lined suburban streets.

A couple of turnings for paths around Norton were slightly hidden away, but I soon found my way using the route loaded to plotaroute on my phone.

One large problem: the route uses a bridleway which is currently overgrown between Stotfold and the A507 and blocked up on the other side immediately south-east of the road. I have raised this with the local authority but even if cleared, there is no pedestrian crossing for the bridleway here. To exit Stotfold I would suggest a minor diversion using a pavement / cycleway under the A507 and a short footpath linking to a point on the bridleway which leads to Radwell - these alternative paths are visible on OpenStreetMap.

There are several food & drink options in Stotfold and Letchworth and a pub at Norton.

The footpath coming out of Stotfold is actually blocked off and even if it wasn't you would need to cross a dangerous road to continue on it. There's a really easy dogleg where you can follow the pavement right to go under an underpass and pick up the route on the other side though (I've tried to add a GPX file with that alternate route but the site keeps telling me the start and end points have moved!). Other than that, this is a pretty pleasant walk through water meadows and the fields and churchyard of Norton. A bit of road walking in Stotfold and once you are in to Letchworth but the route takes you through Norton Common in the centre of the town which is well worth exploring if you've never been there before.
