I walked this from Baldock to Stotfold in two stages camping g at Radwell a little over midway....

A generally nice and varied walk, although with short stretches alongside and crossing busy roads; there are pavements. There are quite a few kissing gates, wooden bridges and steps. The walk through Radwell meadows is very pleasant....

As you approach the lake before the A600 Bedford Road take the footpath to the right towards a new housing development and then go left to the road, which has a pavement. I attach photos of the route between Meppershall and the Bedford Road, the route by the MOD housing, one of the bridges across the ditch and the railway bridge....

On passing through the small wooded area at Radwell by the River Ivel you can go straight on across the meadow and then take a right to Norton Bury, crossing the Norton Road to the churchyard and then walk along the pavement to Norton Common....

You leave fields and enter Langford via a footpath across the railway, and leave it by crossing back....

(1) A mile and a half on pavement through Lower Stondon and Henlow Camp, alongside a reasonably busy road. (2) An odd turn south along Arlesey High Street and alongside the recreation ground - this detour could be cut out of the current route by walking along the lane north of the nursery. To avoid this, I’d suggest a detour through the nature reserves west of the railway, through Arlesey station, along Stotfold Road (where there is a pavement alongside a cycleway) and through Etonbury Wood - however, this would add nearly 2 miles to the current route....

The section approaching Arlesey goes across a nice nature reserve in water meadows and you can get some really nice views looking back over it from the foot bridge over the railway....

To exit Stotfold I would suggest a minor diversion using a pavement / cycleway under the A507 and a short footpath linking to a point on the bridleway which leads to Radwell - these alternative paths are visible on OpenStreetMap....

There's a really easy dogleg where you can follow the pavement right to go under an underpass and pick up the route on the other side though (I've tried to add a GPX file with that alternate route but the site keeps telling me the start and end points have moved!). Other than that, this is a pretty pleasant walk through water meadows and the fields and churchyard of Norton. A bit of road walking in Stotfold and once you are in to Letchworth but the route takes you through Norton Common in the centre of the town which is well worth exploring if you've never been there before....
