26 Oct 2021I uploaded this route, because there's an error in the last 500m or so of Stakin One - Blandy Avenue does not connect to School Lane.
Like several of the other routes in the area, this combines different types of landscape, including the gravel pits around Standlake. There's farmland too, and a little riverside. The route only crosses the Thames, but follows the Windrush for a short period.
As you cross the Windrush, there's an unusual sight - a WWII machine-gun post which has fallen into the river.
There are two road elements to be aware of. Firstly, just south of Newbridge, the route has no choice but to follow the A415 for a short period. Traffic on the bridge is light-controlled, and as a result, the cars will come in groups.
Secondly, at the point of crossing the A420, that road is a dual carriageway with a crossing point. The only realistic alternative is to cross at the roundabout: the downside of that approach is that considerably more of the route would then be on-road.
