The village of West Hanney provides the only break until you get to the outskirts of Kingston Bagpuize, which also features the photogenic and visitable Kingston Bagpuize House, about 1km from the end of the route. Both Wantage and Kingston Bagpuize have good bus services, which helps if you're doing this as a one-way trip...

This has a good mix of terrain, although starting from Kingston Bagpuize you might not think so - it's nearly all tarmac until you get through Hinton Waldrist. As the earlier reviewer mentioned, about 100m is on the A420 but easy and safe to handle (the earlier crossing of the A420 just outside Kingston Bagpuize is via a footbridge)....

Not a lot of refreshment opportunities outside the two ends of the route, though Fyfield has the White Hart (the Black Horse pub on Faringdon Road showed no signs of being open). The route is pretty well signed and straightforward to follow, though at a couple of places (notably while crossing the Faringdon Road at location of the Black Horse pub, the hedgerows are quite overgrown (see one of the pictures)....

As the previous reviewer and commenter have both stated, this route feels pretty unsafe, and I wouldn't recommended it. I'm going to flag this for safety in the hope that this route will be removed. I hope to try out Kinabi two soon - it certainly looks and sounds like an improvement....

Pleasant walk along a mixture of country roads, bridleways, footpaths and through fields. The start and end of the walk (KBS and Faringdon) both have good amenities including pubs, shops and public transport links. A short 100m section is on the verge of the A420, but we found it to be wide and passable....

The route only crosses the Thames, but follows the Windrush for a short period. Firstly, just south of Newbridge, the route has no choice but to follow the A415 for a short period....

But I followed it all the way from Standlake to KP, and discovered that there's an error in the last 500m or so - Blandy Avenue does not connect to School Lane. I've uploaded Stakin Two with a correction....

Uses a fast, busy road with no pavements for a long stretch going north from the A415. I think this would be too dangerous on foot....
