Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

11 Mar 2024I walked this route from WOLVERHAMPTON TO Sedgley. It is a serviceable route that necessarily follows urban pavements for a major part of the way. The highlight however is the section over Sedgley's Beacon Hill where the views are amazing. Wolverhamoton, Walsall and Birmingham are visible from the top but I have to accept Wikipedia's word for the fact that so can Stinchcombe Hill near Dursley in Gloucestershire - the weather wasn't that kind on the day I was walking!!
Both ends of the walk have plentiful places to eat and drink and a picnic on Beacon Hill is encouraged by the provision of picnic benches! The route is well served by public transport. All in all a pleasant walk.

09 Mar 2024Quite a functional feel at the Wolverhampton end, although the design keeps you away from the busiest roads. The magic starts on reaching Sedgley Beacon which is a reasonably gentle climb and delivers views almost immediately. Direct and safe, places for food and drink at either end and very well served by frequent public transport. Full marks.
