Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

08 Nov 2021A route based on a walk that two of us did when trying to follow Seddud one. We started along the pavements of Dudley and then through the residential streets leading to Wrens Nest. We followed the route straight ahead from a point where the original plotter had wanted to us to follow a non existent path up the ridge to our right. This section of the route in Wrens Nest is easy to follow and is incredibly peaceful as it's such a sheltered place, BUT, it does have a lot of climbs and descents, some exceedingly steep. There are wooden steps in sections and they can be slippy too. Leaving Wrens Nest you pass through the greenery around the charming Parkes Hall Pool and then up an alleyway (unfortunately our walk coincided with the end of school so we had to navigate the narrow space with a large number of very polite teenagers coming in the opposite direction). The last section was along the pavements of Sedgley to the meeting place. Overall, this was a nice walk, although quite challenging in a short distance. I continued on to Coseley whereas my walking partner went back to Dudley via a slightly different route based more on Seddud one. A better route, which I think will be Seddud three. I plan to walk and review that one soon!.
