Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

20 Jun 2023We walked this as the first part of our journey from Saltash to Minehead. We expected this first part of our trek to be fairly ordinary and so it was. The first half of the walk, once you cross the Tamar, is mainly through housing estates and in fact pretty much the whole walk is on tarmac, concrete, cycle path or old railway beds. The second half is more interesting in that it follows a river through trees and there is the Rock Inn at Yelverton to welcome you when you get there.
As part or our walk the route is a gentle beginner but we wouldn't walk it again by itself. The route is reasonably accurate apart from one point where it tells you to walk through an impenetrable row of houses! Otherwise pretty accurate and the ap works well.
