Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

01 Aug 2022I walked this route from Torpoint to Saltash.
There’s really three parts to the route.
The first part takes you through quiet residential streets. The biggest downside here is that the route is HILLY. That said, it’s perfectly good and has some really cool moments of beauty along the way.
The second part follows a pretty nasty large road with lots of traffic. The pavement is not uncomfortable, but it’s not exactly the most inspiring walk.
The final part returns to a lovely quiet road en route to the Tamar Bridge, and the approach to the station from the bridge is lovely, too. It’s really pretty cool crossing the bridge and getting a great view of the iconic Brunel bridge directly opposite.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I can give this route more than three stars, but it really isn’t a bad walk, and it’s perfectly fine for the slow ways network!
I, of course, didn’t walk Saltor one, but I would definitely pick Saltor 2 if I were to walk again because it avoids a bit more of the large road segments.
