Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Torpoint’s Slow Ways.

I thought this an excellent walk combining some cross country walking with a good stretch of the Coastal Way....

If also planning on stopping over the night looe would be the ideal place for the night and a swim in the sea. A nice simple walk....

A nice safe route, mostly on pavements but some through the pleasant Devonport park. The ferry crossing is free for pedestrians....

The vehicle gate from Tregantle car park to Tregantle Fort was locked, and I suspect it usually is. The access point for pedestrians is on the Military road where you follow a marked path up near the other side of the locked vehicle gate....

The only difficult section is along the B3247 at the end of Sunwell Lane - this is a short section along a relatively busy road and so some caution is needed....

That said, it’s perfectly good and has some really cool moments of beauty along the way. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can give this route more than three stars, but it really isn’t a bad walk, and it’s perfectly fine for the slow ways network!...

The stretch from city centre to Devonport Park is a bit long and not like the most thrilling stretch you’ve ever experienced (I feel like the route passes like 6 parks before finally entering Devonport Park), but it’s perfectly adequate, direct, safe, and pleasant for a Slow Ways route....

This route follows the coast path for a significant portion of its length, with all the attendant pluses (well waymarked, lovely views) and minuses (steep and hard work in places, not great in poor weather)....
panifex
An easy and direct route, along paved paths for the entire route....

Fine to walk or cycle, just a fair bit of traffic. The path at the bottom end of Valletort Road gets slippery in the rain....

So this route is easy to follow, not very challenging, but just don't expect it to be pretty once you get past the River Tamar....

The network of paths through Devonport Park could be a little confusing, and I did have to rely on Google Maps....
