Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

03 Oct 2024A lovely route along the West Highland Way with amazing views. Conic Hill is a big climb but worth it (even on a very misty day) and Balmaha is a great place to stop for coffee and/or lunch.

12 Aug 2024Would definitely walk this again. Beautiful views from the top of conic hill and then lovely descent to the start of Loch Lomond.

08 Aug 2024The alternative to Conic Hill involves a lot of road walking and some of the facilities on both sides of the road were not very walker friendly. The pavement is overgrown with vegetation.
The ascent of Conic Hill is strenuous walking needing boots rather than sandals or trainers. It adds considerably to the effort required on this section. The views may be excellent but the path needs work to repair damage from washout.
