11 May 2023Having walked both versions of RisGre I'd recommend RisGre Two - stay on the canal as far as possible into Rishton, avoids the noisy road.

27 Sep 2021I agree with previous comment by Steve38, stay on the canal bank rather than divert to the main road.

03 May 2021This route could be improved by carrying on along the canal bank instead of diverting to go along the main road.

29 Apr 2021This is an urban walk from one town to another. I walked it from Great Harwood to Rishton and it starts at the clock tower. It's a mixture of urban streets, urban greenway (old railway line) and canal towpath. The path is asphalt along the whole length. It is easy to navigate but there are no way markers. The paths are well used by walkers and dog owners and felt safe along the whole length. The Slowway ends in Rishton at the public library.
