Description
This route avoids the private farm track at Roundtree Farm otherwise it's the same as Ripeas One. I found it convenient to start at Horsley Station and walk on the path alongside the railway to West Horsley. The loop via Brambleride Copse adds 1.8km to the walk but avoids some of the road walk along Ripley Lane and the woods are lovely and full of bird song!. There's still 1.3km to walk along Rose Lane although there are places where the verge is useable. There are shops at East Horsley and near the station. Ripley has a good bakers and general store next door. There are toilets on Ripley Green next to a car park (north of main road)

26 Sep 2025 (edited 27 Sep 2025)I walked from Horsley to Ripley on a not quite about to rain day.
Good walk minimising road walking. A little indirect, but I don't think that can be helped.
Mostly walking along farm tracks, some concrete, some hardcore gravel, some earth.
The road walking (Rose Lane) is not too bad, the verge is narrow, overgrown and uneven so you can hop on and off it, but not walk on it. Pheasants everywhere. I find litte to praise or criticise on this walk. But a good walk nevertheless.
This may be doable by wheels, but fairly rugged ones.

20 Apr 2023A slight improvement on Ripeas One to avoid a private lane at Roundtree Farm, West Horsley. Silkmore Lane had a few large puddles but mainly dry and firm going. There's a recent nature area at Horsley Meadows with paths from Silkmore Lane. The track through Jury Farm and Brambleride is quiet and pleasant with plenty of bird life (including Red Kites). There's no pavement for 1.3 km along Rose Lane into Ripley although there are grass verges. The traffic is not that busy. After crossing the A3 and just past Ripley Court School there's a pavement into the village where there's a good bakery and a convenience store next to it. There are clean toilets on Ripley Green on the other side of the main road (crossing lights).
