It is a bit challenging around the roadworks on the A3/M25 junction, but at the time or writing the A3 footbridge is open and accessible. We made a short diversion just after crossing the A3 to go to Ockham Bites for a coffee and snack. Half of the car park has been taken over by the road works, but the cafe is still open and accessible....

Calming walk that takes you all along the canal which is fairly accessible and pretty. It very long though and requires commitment and preparation...

Previous reviewers mention a short length of lane walking at Pyrford, this was no problem, good visibility and low traffic with reasonably considerate drivers. My main grumble is the road crossing of the B382 Old Woking Road, on a big bend with reduced visibility - not mentioned by the previous reviewers, I think this may be because visibility is better coming from Ripley direction....

There's no pavement for 1.3 km along Rose Lane into Ripley although there are grass verges....

If you follow the Hoe Stream through Old Woking cricket ground there are two stiles to climb, but you can cross the stream to join White Rose Lane earlier....

Some of this route goes along a private farm track (Roundtree Farm, West Horsley) although coming from Ripley it's not marked as private. I'm concerned about the route along Rose Lane, Ripley which is nearly a mile of road walking. There's no sensible alternative although it's shared with the Fox Way....

This route allows for amazing views, providing a range from the smooth green hills of the golf course to the more rural countryside....

** small correction required at Guildford Station for safe access - see map with correct route and photo of ‘no pedestrian’ sign, which is what you will see - for good reason - if you try going the way this is routed**. Would be great to have ‘versioning’, which would allow small tweaks without having to make a new route option. Otherwise - a very good route, follows the Wey navigation between Guildford and Send, then across farmland and woods to Ripley....

From the M25 crossing to Ripley the entire route is off road, apart from where it crosses a lane at Wisley. After crossing Wisley lane the path went alongside the famous Royal Horticulture Society gardens, and then some fields and more common land, and I was in Ripley. Refreshments can be found slightly off route at the A3 crossing (just south of the route at the car park on the east side of the A3), and at Wisley gardens, where you can follow pedestrian access signs from Wisley Lane, through the car parks to the café....
