Description
This is a shorter and more direct version of RipBor(one). It does not leave the river bank to go into the village of Bishop Monkton and so misses out on a potential refreshment opportunity a the village does have a pub. Also between the A1(M) and Roecliffe this route does not divert to the south along the footpaths around the lakes. Rather it stays alongside the road which always has a pavement on at least one side. These changes make for a more direct and shorter walk

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

07 Jan 2024I walked this route after a long period of heavy rain with many fields across the country flooded. although alongside the river Ure for much of the route the way was quite a pleasant and easy walk. There was one particular are through trees where care was needed because of the flooding. But usually this would be no problem. This walk does miss out on the chance to go into Bishop Monkton for refreshment and does not take you around the lakes at Roecliffe, but follows the pavement at the side of Bar Lane. The walk was however very pleasant, I always felt safe and it easy to navigate.
