Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

12 Jan 2024Great walk. The row across the quarry has been diverted, which this route follows. At the quarry its national cycle network number 22, so metalled and easily passable in otherwise muddy conditions.

09 Jul 2023I walked this from Redhill to Godastone on a warm but grey morning with a little rain at the end.
From Redhill, the route soon crosses into the woods near the Redhill Brook (photo #1). The path was not very accessible with much rain and mud, but there was a path up on the hill next to the fence that was a bit easier going, although a little overgrown. After climbing over some logs (photo #2), I got back to the path (photo #3, #4). Coming out of the wood, you need to cross Cormongers Lane, which wasn't busy, onto Chilmead Lane (photo #5), which wasn't either. After coming around the cricket ground (photo #6) (which you can short cut), another road crossing of a non-busy road. After a stile, the route then goes on the edges of fields (photo #7), and around a quarry (photo #8), and after another field, a tunnel gets you under the M23 before walking along quiet lanes (photo #9). And along some more fields (photo #10). After crossing Brewer Street, there is a short section along Place Farm Road that is not pleasant, but you soon can walk along a wide sandy path (photo #11) along the Godstone Sand Quarry. At the far end of the quarry there is than a foot path (photo #12) that gets you to Bletchingly Road that gets you into Godstone along a pavement. Be careful crossing the A25 though, as it was a little busy.
