Description
This route goes past Raglan Castle, then quiet lanes to Kingcoed and towards Llanishen; then tracks, paths and lanes to Hygga - Parkhouse - Tintern Cross - Chepstow.
NB: Rights of way are generally well-marked east of Llanishen (closer to the Wye Valley & Chepstow), but around Raglan this is not the case:
1) The path used by Ragche1 between the A449 and Kingcoed appears to be disused/inaccessible.
2) I tried to find a footpath route linking the lanes N and E of Kingcoed, but to no avail.
The roads on this route are very quiet with just an occasional car

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

21 May 2022 (edited 22 May 2022)This is a very nice route along quiet lanes, tracks and paths; I walked from Raglan to Chepstow. Things to note:
1) Between Castle Farm (near Raglan Castle) and Cuckoo's Row there's a house at the end of the track from the farm. On the OS map the path follows the track to the house, but actually you need to go through a gate into the field south of the house. The next 2 fields are cultivated; it may be easier to follow the tractor tracks - head towards the trees/houses to the east. This path is marked at both ends.
2) Instead of going via Hygga (photo 3) and Parkhouse, it's slightly more direct to go through Llanishen & Trelleck Grange. The former is mostly off-road, including an uneven, rocky path (photo 2) that could be very wet. The latter is on lanes and passes near the pub in Llanishen.
