Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

06 Aug 2023It's a lot of uphill but 100% worth it! Once you get further up into actual Dartmoor, it levels out more.
It takes you on the RedLake Tramway which is a great hike, just be prepared for wet boots & plenty of wind! Most of the journey can be wet, soggy or even flooded in areas depending on when you go. With winds that can suddenly chuck you around. Was a thrill!
If you're looking to camp halfway through, try and make it to Red Lake or the Quarry about 20min after. Both have good wind shelter but the Quarry has more locations.
Princetown also has a camping ground for passersbys aswell with a shower block, really useful.

24 Nov 2022This route works, but it was very very wet in a few places when I tried to walk it. I've shared Priivy Two as a good alternative that is very similar, just a bit more dry.
