31 Dec 2022I throughly enjoyed this route! I walked it in December and whilst there were a few areas that were impassible due to large puddles, it is otherwise an interesting route.
One improvement near Partridge green that would be more direct, would be to go along fairly quiet road instead of along the muddy back path.
The mud made it a little difficult underfoot but in the summer this would be much easier! It is a relatively flat route so I expect that you could cover the ground with relative ease.
We finished in Partidge green and had a nice coffee and bacon sandwich in the lovely and friendly bike cafe which I would highly recommend!.

22 Dec 2022Really enjoyable route linking hurst, sayers common, shermanbury and partridge green. Definitely one to avoid after heavy rain as some of the paths are flooded.
There are some scenic parts past a river and some old country houses.
There are a couple of broken styles along the way.
One to take your own supplies on as there are no shops along the way. For a more direct route you can follow a footpath next to the B road into Partridge Green when leaving Shermanbury.

10 May 2022A really nice, peaceful, rural route following field paths, farm tracks and quiet country lanes across beautiful Low Weald scenery. It is well-traced on the map and no diversions are required. The busy A23 road is crossed by a bridge.
When walked in early May the ground was baked hard, but some of the paths will be muddy in the Winter. Given that this is a rural route using footpaths you will have to negotiate stiles, kissing gates, narrow footbridges across streams, plus fields with livestock. No cattle this time but plenty of horses - all perfectly friendly.
The local Monday Group work in this area keeping footpaths open by building some very solid stiles in places. However, there are still some which are broken or rickety. There's always work to do.
Sayers Common is the only village passed on the way, so there is little opportunity for refreshment stops. Take a flask and picnic. The sunny bench in the corner of Shermanbury Churchyard is a lovely place to stop.
