Description
There is nothing wrong with NOTWES one, but it is a little indirect and it does involve two sets of steps, so I think there is a need for this alternative. It is the route I would use if I had to walk as quickly as possible, following pavements and surfaced paths throughout, and entirely safe, step-free and accessible, if a little noisier. All main road junctions have zebra or pelican crossings

31 Jan 2024Less picturesque that it's NotWes1 couterpart, but seemingly a more direct route back into the City.
I would suggest that the route is a well walked one by sports fans who have attended games at Forest or the Cricket.
The route is a well established pathway, but runs in part next to buys roads.

22 Nov 2023 (edited 23 Nov 2023)Walked from West Bridgford to Nottingham. This route is quick, direct and accessible, entirely step free. It is very much an urban walk, but still has plenty of interest.
There is no need for a detailed description as the route simply follows the pavements of main roads (or what used to be main roads). The section through the former Broad Marsh shopping centre shows the current path that has been in place since the demolition work stopped. Arkwright Walk was once the main road to Trent Bridge, but has been partially pedestrianised since the "new" Meadows estate was built (early 70s?).
Points of interest include Trent Bridge cricket ground, a preserved section of old bridge in the middle of the road junction south of the bridge, Trent Bridge and the river Trent, Nottingham (Midland) station and several other historic buildings.
