29 Sep 2024This is a good, direct and easy to follow route that's almost entirely on solid lanes. I'd 100% walk it again. We walked it as part of a hike between Lapford and Okehampton, making use of train stations in both places.
It's been wet recently and it was a relief to be able to make use of the lanes. We did see a few cars but felt safe the entire way.
There are some good views and we even saw some peacocks!.

01 Jan 2024This was a perfect walk for a rainy miserable December day. All quiet lane walking with a shortish bridleway walk, which was the only part that was a little muddy. Considering the amount of rain over the last few days before the walk, the mud was more than manageable and wellies were not necessary at all. Some excellent views on show. Nowhere on route for sitting or buying sustenance but plenty available in North Tawton itself which is fine as the walk itself was reasonably short and fairly easy as concerns climbing. A good one to remember on the next week of rain for getting out in the country but staying clean.

30 Dec 2023Perfect walk for a wet winter. I walked from Lapford to North Tawton, and almost all of it is along quiet lanes, which at the tops of the hills have fantastic views. There is a section of bridleway around Ashridge Court, which is a well maintained lane until Ashridge where it then becomes a track. The surface was rough and muddy through North Tawton Wood, and very wet by the lake, but in decent condition considering the amount of rain we've had.
Very enjoyable wander through rural Devon.
