Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

21 Jul 2023A lovely walk. Happy Valley can get rather busy. There are some significant hills to be aware of!.

21 Aug 2022I greatly enjoyed this short walk at the end of a day which started in Ewell. A fascinating mix of village, farmland, open public spaces and rural landscapes.
There is a fair amount of elevation gain and I had to step carefully on occasion.
I used the OS app on my phone and there was no issues with regards to accuracy.
Trains back to London from Caterham are regular on a Sunday and the guard on duty was very helpful. There are lots of food options in Caterham.

04 Aug 2022Good route especially through Happy Valley. Steep descent from Netherne village and from Caterham on the Hill to Caterham Station.

25 Jul 2022The Happy Valley is the highlight of this route.
Very steep and uneven underfoot in places. So steep that your feet start entering parts of your shoes they’ve never been before.
There’s some hills in this walk you should prepare yourself for.
Some paths long side PRIVATE LAND a little overgrown.
Warning: mobile coverage very weak in Netherne village. Had to guess which way to go trying to leave.
