Description

This is a great way to walk between Marlborough and Hungerford. The route mostly follows the River Kennet along beautiful, easy to follow and flat paths. The route snakes a couple of times to include the charming villages of Ramsbury and Mildenhall.

The route does include a couple of flights of steps and a handful of stiles.

The route is inspired by Marhun One, but in response to reviews of that route, avoids the road walking at Axford and makes use of footpaths and very quiet lanes. I am sure that someone could create an alternative that is more accessible. A more direct version that does not snake so much could be created too

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

  1. Complete the survey training.
