Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

20 May 2021 (edited 27 Jun 2023)Generally a good route, but the stretch from Sutton Cheney to Sutton Wharf is dangerous, along a relatively narrow, busy, road, with parts where it is not possible to get off the road when vehicles pass. I would suggest taking the footpath from Sutton Cheney, south, and then rejoining the route along the much quieter Dadlington to Stapleton road - I will endeavour to check this route in the near future before finalising the proposed new route.

27 May 2021I have, today, tried the alternative route I'd suggested above - this can be seen at https://www.komoot.com/tour/376932489. I made this comment "I walked the route to try and find a way of avoiding the busy (and narrow) road between Sutton Cheney and Sutton Wharf for SlowWays' MarHin. Unfortunately, the revision I was considering includes public footpaths going through fields with crops growing, and very poor signage. I did manage to make my way, without trampling over most of the crops, but only by walking along tracks that are not marked as public footpaths. In the circumstances, I don't think I can suggest this alternative route."
