Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

04 Sep 2024This is an excellent route. Utilising tracks and paths across the moor and the Dartmoor Way between Lydford and Peter Tavy. There is a section of the route which is a little difficult and requires care in navigation. This is beween King's Tor at SX 55448 73957 and the wall crossing at SX 55209 74133. Only a short distance but difficult to pick a way between the bracken! The route between this wall crossing and bridleway at SX 54860 74115 is along a feint but followable path. the rest of the route I found to be easy to follow. There is a refreshment opportunity at the Dartmoor Inn at Merryvale. Also cafes and pubs in Peter Tavy and Mary Tavy.
