Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

22 Dec 2021This walk is fantastic if you love trains as you are up close to the metro line for much of the route and it includes a level crossing.
Otherwise it is a fairly dull walk (not helped by the fact I did it on a wet/snowy day at dusk - there are unlit sections)
It starts promisingly enough with a section through Killingworth moor and the afore mentioned level crossing. However you then find yourself in an industrial park for a little longer than pleasant. After a short stint on a main road you enter some quiet residential streets. These were quite nice with all the Christmas lights. At the end you pop up onto a narrow path right along the metro lines. I'm sure this is fine during the day but at night it was pitch back with no lights - so bring a torch! You pop out at Benton Metro and the follow the main road along to Four Lane Ends.

Then it got too dark to take good photos.
