Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

17 Aug 2024Follows the coastal path for a lot of the walk. Really nice views and green spaces.

14 Aug 2024This is a nice accurate route which gets to the Solent Way quickly. Theres then a nice coastal walk, some of which skirts the beach. We chose to stay on the path as it is easier walking than a pebbled beach. Its roads back in to Stubbington for a few km, but these are good for walking (we had three dogs and weren't challenged by the traffic.).

12 Aug 2024Heading out of Locks Heath the was a bit of road walking that had no footpath, we did meet several cars, but all were mindful of driving slowly and there were several other pedestrians on the road at the same time, so it wasn't really an issue. A nice section along the coast, which was really beautiful but there were places where hedging along the footpath prevented views out to the sea, you'd probably be able to walk along the beach just as well if you wanted to maintain the views, but it would not be suitable for cycling due to the the narrow nature of the path.

08 Apr 2022This is a lovely route that takes in the hamlet of Hook and Chilling Common, then the beach through to Meon and Stubbington beyond. Very nice cafe at the Meon bird reserve plus often a coffee van. Water tap on the beach side of the toilet block at Meon shore.
Note, not suitable for wheelchairs plus the beach cliff section can be pretty muddy!.
