Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

30 Mar 2024Ran this route today from Knutsford and overall thought it was a good route. It’s direct, safe and avoids traffic where possible. Some of the fields in between Knutsford and Mobberley were VERY boggy (it’s been raining for about three months on and off) but may be fine after a dry spell. Also, a couple of the stiles/gates could do with repairing and the fields can be tricky to navigate. That said, it’s hard to think of a better route.

23 Jun 2023A great way to demonstrate Slow Ways unique approach to linking towns together!
A safe and enjoyable route. Would definitely recommend and will probably do it again.
We deviated slightly at the beginning of the walk to go through Dog Wood not along roads. A New housing development early on has also cropped up meaning walkers or wheelers need to follow the horizontal wooden fence to the left of the estate which will bring you around the back of the building site safely. It is marked and fenced but you can ask at the show home if stuck. Later there are 2 separate fields which were not sown I guess when the route was mapped so you need to go around the edge of the field to avoid going straight through wheat fields.
Do follow the leg into Ashley and refresh at the pub.
But lovely to finish in Hale too and treat yourself to frozen yoghurt!.
