Description
This route passes through extremely remote countryside, climbs 3 passes up to a maximum of 560m, and crosses a lot of rivers and streams. There are bridges for the main river crossings, but these may not be in the best condition. This route should not be attempted during periods of high rainfall. Users should be self supporting, as there are a number of bothies en route, but no shops or hostels.
This route follows the Cape Wrath Trail, information available on the Walkhighlands website (Glenfinnan to A Chuil bothy, and A Chuil to Inverie).
My photos show the (suspension) bridge at Carnoch (apparently this was rebuilt in 2019) and a deteriorating bridge in Glen Dessary. Note that according to the Walkhighlands walk description, the footbridge shown on maps part way down the Gleann a'Chaorainn, on the descent to Glen Pean, north of Streap, does not exist

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.
