Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

25 Jul 2023I tried walking this Slow Way from Bugle to Indian Queens. Bugle is a functional village with a train station and some other amenities too. You are soon onto decent public rights of way and relatively quiet roads, making your way through to Roche. This time of year some of it was overgrown but not impassable. There are quite a few stiles and tight gates too. Approaching Roche rock was really interesting. I never knew this was a place, so it was a treat to see it in the evening light.
Roche makes a good stopping point on the route, with public toilets and other facilities/amenities available. It was coming out of Roche where the issues began. It turns out the St Austell link road being built (roughly N/S) west of Roche has caused rights of way closures on multiple paths. This made it impossible to progress west towards Goss Moor. The road is due to be finished in 2025, so an alternative avoiding this whole area should be considered. I've had a quick look and it will be tricky. A safe route may well be twice as long.
