25 Aug 2021Excellent walking. Beautiful coastal views -well signposted. The entire route is along the Coast Path national trail, no reason to change it. Some big climbs along the trail.

23 Aug 2021The route from Ilfracombe to Lynmouth for the most part follows the coast path, with dramatic views over the North Devon coastline. It is a long walk, and, as it follows the coast path it is very strenuous, with ascent and descent the equivalent of the height of Snowdon, some of it very steep. I would not recommend trying to complete this route in one day, unless you are very fit. You could split the journey at Combe Martin. It took me 10 hours to walk this route over 2 days. Having said that the coastline is beautiful, and well worth the effort, with views over Ilfracombe, several small beaches and on a clear day all the way over to Wales, to name a few.
