Description
Amended/improved version of Hasgod Two, corrects an access error at Brook; also taken the opportunity to go through the Woodland Trust woods at Brook (which reduces the amount of A road walking); and a somewhat less rigorous ascent/descent of the hill at Godalming.
Otherwise as Hasgod Two. Undulating, largely off road route across country in a very pleasant part of the world. Some lane walking, but they are pretty quiet and safe. Refreshments at Brook and Witley

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

20 Feb 2023Walked Haslemere to Godalming. Lovely sunny winter day. 5⭐️ route.
I was walking Hasgod Two, but after it had blocked access/private grounds at Brook I decided on this remake and so reccied a few improvements as I went along.
It’s an absolutely splendid route, mostly off road, mix of woodland and farm tracks. There was a long lane section at Brook, but it was fairly quiet and decent verges to avoid the occasional inevitable range rover rushing somewhere after Sunday lunch.
Good pub at Brook, book ahead for food, especially on Sunday! Bus stops here too.
At Brook I checked out the Woodland Trust woods which are accessible through a recreation grassy area opposite the pub. This cut out most of the A road walking so a real positive.
The loop around at Witley takes you by a pub and bus stops, I think it is good to keep in the route as part of the Slow Way ethos - it could be shorted out if wanted.
Route passes Milford Station. With the various drop out points this is a nice route to dip into - but note that on Sunday there is much less transport so be prepared to walk all the way!
There are quite a few ups and downs before arriving at Godalming for a little refreshment.
