19 Jun 2023I walked this on a warm and slightly cloudy Monday afternoon, from Wood Green to Hampstead Heath. It hadn't rained a lot in the last few weeks.
The route almost immediately heads through Alexandra Park along Ally Pally (photo #2), but not before having crossed the rail ways at Alexandra Palace (photo #1). It was green with excellent paths (photo #3). After leaving the park through a tunnel underneath Muswell Hill (photo #4), the route then continues along Parkland Walk (photo #5), with great views of the City (photo #6). After crossing Muswell Hill Road, it then takes you through Highgate Wood (photo #7), with trees shading you from the Sun. Then there is a short section along the residential streets of Highgate (photo #8, #9). The last section is then through Hampstead Heath (photo #10, #11, #12, #13) and a tiny bit of residential streets towards the finish at Hampstead Heath station.
A very green walk, with lots of shade. Really nice urban(ish) route.

03 May 2022This is one of the best routes I've walked, honestly. It's direct, easy to follow, and safe, but it's also SO green - it's almost 100% in parks and open spaces, and some really incredible ones at that!
Alexandra Park is lovely, as is the Parkland Walk (with great views of the city), which takes you to the lovely Highgate Wood. Finally, of course Hampstead Heath is extremely lovely too (and with a little diversion you can get to the top of Parliament Hill for another great view of the city!).
I really can't say enough good things about this walk. It's a perfect route. Full marks.
