Lovely walk through Surrey countryside. I started at Horsley Station then alongside the railway to track through West Horsley Place. Needs crossing of A246 anyway which is OK if you wait for reasonable gap in traffic. Surfaces of path vary from stony to slightly muddy (through sawmill yard). Steep path down to Colekitchen Farm. Lane is safe enough. Crossing of busy A25 needed if going further through village (I went on to Shere). Shops at both ends.

Report

A nice route over the North Downs. Keeps mainly on footpaths and bridleways. Steep hills are involved. A safe route one section along Colekitchen lane at Gomsall is along a narrow lane. But it was quiet when I walked it and there are escape routes along the way, so pretty comfortable walking. Cafes, shops and pubs at either end of the route.
