Description
The first review of the original route from Fowey to Looe along the Coast Path (by Spadgershat) describes why this is a beautiful walk; while a look at the route profile and the second review (by Anton) help explain why it is one of the quieter (and less inclusive) sections of the Coast Path.
The most strenuous section (which includes the highest elevation) is between Lansallos and Polperro, and this can be avoided by walking along quiet roads. Though there is a path heading NE from East Coombe to the road it is often poorly maintained (muddy and overgrown – sometimes impassable), and it is better to head NE from West Coombe and head for Lansallos, then follow the lanes nearest to the coast on into Polperro. The distance saved is minimal, but there is 130m less ascent, while the surface is smooth and firm.
I use various routes between Looe and Fowey, but this suggestion is the one that I believe is the closest to Slowways methodology.
Additionally, there is a bus (the 73) from Crumplehorn (north end of Polperro) which connects with Looe and then to Liskeard. There is also a small bus (the 481) connecting Polruan with Lansallos, Polperro and Looe

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
