1st time I have walked this route using the GPX file. Route leaves Trawden centre heading up Rock Lane towards Trawden Rec before you turn left at bend in the road towards Winewall on a well used track. Bit of road walking (mainly downhill!) past the Cotton Tree Inn crossing a bridge before turning right into Ball Grove. You pick up the East Colne Way which is becoming one of Pendle's most popular local walks. The route bypasses Lower Clough , Higher Clough and through the farmyard at Broach Flat. This section can be very muddy during wet weather! Rest of the route is straightforward and ends down a farm track/road before turning right onto the busy A56 and ending at the Hare & Hounds pub. There is also a Gregg's further up the road in case you need a nice pie or sausage roll!.

The route passes within 50m of my house and I have walked this route many times. You walk along part of the East Colne Way which is one of the most popular walks in Pendle! Good mixture of public footpaths and pavements. Some of the footpaths aren't suitable for prams or wheelchairs.

I thought this was a lovely route, with good views too. It starts by the community centre and shop in Trawden, which also has a café, passes a pub then near to a café in Ball Grove Park, 30% of the way. There are no other facilities until the pub at Foulridge.
After the road crossing at SD 90328 40518, you might feel drawn to follow the cycle track into the new housing, but the footpath goes straight into the field from the road. This shouldn’t be a problem if you are walking southwards though.
A short way into the driveway at Lower Clough, there is a gate into a walkway alongside the driveway. As Carol says in her review, this estate is surrounded by lots of heavy security, but the footpath is also very well signposted and maintained.
I really enjoyed this route.

As a walk from A to B this is a nice enough walk, quite a few short sections of road or track as well as fields. There are a few stiles to negotiate.
Setting off from Trawden, you climb up the road to the bridleway, which provides a nice level walk into Winewall. Along the lane through the houses and then down the road and into the the park. Cut directly up through the car park (before you get to the cafe) and then cross the road and walk up the pavement in the residential street. Turn left between the houses and out onto a field, a bit muddy and there were some cows, but they ignored me. As you walk past some back gardens, take care to turn right between the houses. Another road to cross where they are building a massive housing estate, once past this you're on a nice piece of open land. The next section leads you down a driveway, which starts to become very intriguing with the security measures put in place. A very high wall with electric fence on top only makes you more keen to try and see inside! You walk around two sides of the property and then across to the lane and eventually start across more fields and along to Foulridge.
I joined this walk with Earby to Trawden and Foulridge to Earby to form a circular route.
