The most direct option. Advantages: Quickest, stairway-free, and when going Leith => Edinburgh, is very gently uphill most of way, and avoids steep uphill sections. Disadvantages: a lot of traffic/busy. Note Leith Walk is a bit of a mess at the moment with the tram works, but once completed in 2023 (?), Leith Walk should have less traffic, and improved pavements (+ dedicated cycle lanes).
