Description
This is the same as the starter route Eccsal one without the additional points which made it a 15km route. I am not certain that the part around Salford is accurate so when you walk it please look for the better crossing places of the A6

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Hiking Historian
23 Mar 2023Mostly a good route, but it is marred with errors, and it is also practically a carbon copy of the original, with no real adjustments.
Firstly, the short 'footpath' from Nadine Street no longer exists, as it has been sealed at both ends with locked gates. Second, there is no safe (or ramped) crossing over Langworth Road.
Once at the roundabouts, the pavements do not follow the route precisely, and once we finally get to the A6, the route makes no sense; there's a simple road crossing that seems to be ignored!
I've submitted a slightly amended route to correct these errors.

16 Jan 2023I cannot distinguish this route from the other Eccles-Salford Slow Way. The first part, as far as Buile Hill Park, is a bit dismal on the main roads and it may be possible to cut through the hospital and residential streets to avoid this. However, this is more than compensated by the Park and also by the redbrick Salford streets and local life beyond. Main roads and roundabouts again become unavoidable towards the end, but are again compensated by Peel Park and the University Campus just beyond the end once you have navigated your way past the railway station. If you continue eastwards, as I did, you then get to walk through this peaceful open space and follow the banks of the Irwell right into the heart of Manchester.
