Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

03 Jul 2022A straightforward walk along pavements all the way - with good accessibility. I walked this from Newcastle to Denton Burn. This is a good route for those (like me) who are walking along the actual line of Hadrian's Wall. There are some visible remains on this route.

27 May 2022An urban route between a city and suburb with great transport and shopping throughout.
All paved, with ramps at crossings. Uphill climb from Denton Burn may cause some wheelchair or bike strain, but easily done.
A good point-to-point route, with even a tiny bit of Hadrian's Wall thrown in for good measure!.
