Description
This is a good route between Crewkerne and Yetminster.
It is the same as Creyet Two, but has an easier way to find Common Lane - an overgrown lane above Hardington Marsh.
You can expect some great British countryside that comes with some challenges (indistinct paths, some nettles, boggy ground after rain, cows), that are totally worth it if you are happy overcoming them!

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

20 Jun 2024I'm just copying my review from creyet2 to here, due to plotting.
This route is mostly off road, crossing farmland, but is tough going in the winter. There is a lot of mud and water logged fields, but all passable if you don't mind a muddy slog. Approaching Marsh Farm from the west there is a footbridge where the rails are collapsing in. You can push them apart as you cross, which adds an upper body work out to your walk. It's probably easier with 2 of you.
Much of the farmland sections aren't very walker friendly in that the footpath signs are gone or damaged, there are fields of crops to cross, and many of the stiles and gateways are in a sad state of repair, often with barbed wire or electric fences presenting an additional hazard. I also had a problem crossing a field of cows and calves on Hardington Marsh who were furious with my dog for just existing. We had some words. I would have chosen another parallel footpath to avoid them, but the gateway was blocked.
Having said all that, the views of the rolling hills of south Somerset and Dorset are fantastic and far reaching. In spring, summer or autumn when the going underfoot is easier, this looks like it would be a fairly spectacular walk.

20 Jun 2024We enjoyed walking this route! It goes through so many beautiful fields.
You'd want to have some waterproof boots or shoes if it's been raining or been wet for a while. It's otherwise a great route.
