Description
Leaves Cobham via walkway beside main road alongside River Mole. Cuts down to the village and railway station at Stoke D'Abernon. Rejoins the A249 and continues on to the Cobham Road where a small amount of verge walking is required (about 300m) until the bridge over the M25 and River Mole which has a pavement. After another 50m stretch of verge walking, the route joins a footpath which snakes across fields as far as the north end of Fetcham. There it picks up River Lane to take you back across the Mole. At the end of this you emerge on to the A245, the pavement of which takes you to the meeting place in Leatherhead

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

05 Oct 2023On 05 October 2023, a Thursday morning, me and two other colleagues who work at Aviva walked from Cobham to Leatherhead. We made a pledge on SlowWays to do this walk. We walked 6.20 miles, total duration 2 hrs 31 mins. The start of the walk was a through Cobham town so there was good amount of space for us to walk. We then progressed further outside of Cobham where the scenery was lovely, especially in the morning. We did find some pathways started to become narrow or at times there was no footpath. The map directed us on to a field which was slightly more challenging to navigate as there was no public footpath or some areas had been closed off due to private property. We did get to see some turkey birds and cows which was sweet. It made us laugh because all the cows one by one started to look at us in interest! After the field section we did get back on track on a more public pathway and started to see other people walking too and people riding bikes. The weather was on our side so we had good visibility to see ahead / our surroundings. I would actually recommend the walk, there were a couple alterations we had to make nonetheless it was great being outdoors, taking in the fresh air and surroundings. I have also never walked around Cobham before really so I am pleased I got to walk around a new area.

24 Nov 2021Quite a direct route with styles and some puddles due to the wet weather. The route does go though woodland with some trip hazards. Cobham Road across the M25 has some unpleasent narrow and difficult verges close to the busy road.
