23 Oct 2022I walked from Brixton to Clapham Junction.
The first half is practically one long inclined roadside pavement walk, on the positive side it is wide, smooth and there are some interesting shops along the way, good for wheels. Clapham common is a breath of fresh air wide open space full of joggers and sports games. As previous reviewers have said the path parallel to the road is mud and was compact on this day, but may become wet, there are alternative tarmac paths, or take the roadside pavement. Then a quiet alley to busy Clapham Junction town centre.
A fine direct walk, easily navigated, with some variety. Good for wheels.

03 Apr 2022This route starts off on a fairly busy road at the Brixton end but eventually reaches Clapham Common. I would suggest choosing one of the paths that goes towards the middle of the park and then runs diagonally back to the Clapham Junction corner. If you do follow the road, there is a dirt path just inside the park which is nicer than the pavement, although less accessible.

23 May 2021While this is the obvious and direct route, it is on busy roads nearly all the way. Starting from the Brixton end, Acre lane is not too unpleasant. However, rather than walking along the busy road at the side of Clapham Common, a more pleasant and only marginally longer route is to follow the path to the bandstand in the centre of the common (tarmac, so still a hard smooth surface), and from there the similar path to the far corner of the common. The route as specified is entirely on pavements, and the only obstacles would be the curbs at road crossings.
