Description

This is a beautiful walk. Other than a small amount of suburban road walking at the start, the route was ferociously green when I walked it. Much of the route follows the River Teign, which is lined by woodland and open fields. There are steps and stiles. A downfall is a stretch of 200m of (fast and busy) road walking, connecting to the west of the B3193. On the day I walked the route just enough of the verge had been cut to allow me to walk off the road, but on another day that may not have been possible. I was OK with this stretch, but I wouldn't have been if I had small children with me or were unsteady on my feet. I'd like to see a new footpath created to deal with this issue.

This route replaces Chukin One which I've just walked. The only change I made was to deal with a segment of the route that does not follow the right of way. Someone may want to suggest an additional version that avoids the road I mentioned above.

I'd happily walk this route again. The river, fields and woodlands were great

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.
