Walked from Kingsteignton to Chudleigh, heading out on Broadway Road is ok, no pavement but the road is quite wide and there were only a few instances where cars raced past us. We know there are traffic control lights on New Bridge so we would time it where we could walk on the road and would walk on the overgrown verge when cars were coming. Heading up the road to Gappah and through the Chudleigh countryside is very picturesque. The paths either side of Clay Lane are beautiful and would be a really nice route but I’m not sure how safe Clay Lane itself is to walk along....

At Ventiford Basin you can either take the tarmac path or the uneven woodland path, both suitable routes depending on your interest/ need. Reaching Exeter Road the route crosses into a more densely green environment (in summer) with an uneven path, there is gravel in places and a couple of tree roots poking into the path. Depending on the wheel user, going down Exeter Road to Broadway Road could be an alternative route to avoid the uneven path as it is all tarmac, however on a road....

It follows the Stover Trail out of Bovey Tracey, an off-road (small section quiet road) multi-use route which crosses the A38 by an impressive ramped bridge. After crossing the old Exeter road the route diverges from the multi use route & follows the Templer Way beside the canal....

Great to see that it's graded 1Y because of the hard surfaces and no significant obstacles on the route. An alternative could be created that is more direct, but I doubt it would be as enjoyable....
