Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

30 Aug 2023Good stuff. Fab views from the memorial at the top of Great Lines park. Steep climb up a long flight of steps to get there though. Luckily for me they were closed for maintenance so I couldn't follow the route exactly but was forced to take a pair of less brutal paths to get up there.

27 Jun 2022Lots of tracks in Great Lines Heritage Park which don't necessarily correspond to the route but the route was very walkable all the same.
Great views from the top of the park near the Naval Memorial.

27 Oct 2021This is definitely the quickest most direct route between Chatham and Gillingham stations. My only concern is that it is very secluded.

30 Dec 2023Easy route to follow and some great views, especially from the war memorial. The route from Chatham station is diverted at the moment and you need to walk through the bus station, then cross The Brook at the temporary lights (early 2024). Steps up towards war memorial are not well maintained but relatively easy climb.
On reaching the main road it is a direct route to the station along Gillingham High Street. No issues on this walk.
