Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

04 Apr 2023This is a very roundabout route. Some parts of it are very good and worth keeping - the section from Ladybridge road to Bramhall is lovely to walk (although very muddy after rain), but there are better ways to get from Stockport to that point without diverting to all the parks. Some sections are not doable with a pram when it has been wet.

07 Jan 2023Walked in reverse, Sto - Bra.
Not really a fair assessment as it had rained a LOT, so the Ladybrook Valley Path was just sucking mud. Regretted not wearing gaiters. Some observations though -
* We must be able to do something more direct than this. A tour of Stockport's urban parks is nice, but I was constantly looking for the next left or right, it's a tedious way to walk.
* Couple of accuracy problems, of the 'there isn't a gate here, got to go round the corner' type
* Route takes you into Hollywood Park purely to make you walk up all those stairs and out again! No thanks.
