Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

03 Sep 2022 (edited 05 Sep 2022)Walked this while visiting a friend in Aberystwyth. Beautiful, easy to navigate Slow Way along the Ystwyth river valley, almost all via a well-signed, mostly off-road cycle path on flat or gently undulating ground with paved surfaces or easy gravel tracks. Some on quiet lanes. The cycle path has a few gates and there is a short section of footpath across sheep pastures at the Llanilar end with lots of farm gates and a wooden footbridge. There is one straightforward main road crossing along the way.

30 Apr 2022An easy to follow route using the dismantled railway which is now a shared cycle/pathway. Nice views, flat route.

28 Apr 2021Lovely walk / run / cycle that follows cycle route mainly. From Aber you skirt around base of Pen Dinas on left - former town dump now nature haven with ‘chimney’ (a canon in unfinished memorial to Wellington) on top. After village of Rhydyfelin is a picturesque and undulating short section through the woods before hitting a nice long sweeping flat section at base of valley pretty much all the way to Llanilar.
