Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

This would be a fantastic 5 star route, but for one access problem at Llwyn-yr-Eos Farm just outside Llangynidr. The route takes the farm track between the farm and the nearby lane, which is gated and padlocked (it`s also a bit rickety and barb-wired, so I would be a bit wary about hopping it!). I don`t think this is a right of way. There is a much better alternative though, as the waymarked footpath continues directly across the farm track and comes out on the canal towpath just outside Llangynidr.
There are a couple of other minor oddities with this route as it alternates between the road and the canal towpath between Llangynidr and Dardy. Although it`s not a major road, it can get quite busy at times and is a bit windey in places, so I think it would be better to stick to the towpath.
I will add an alternative route addressing the above issues.
